MARKETING DEPARTMENT CHAIR: The University of Akron is seeking a Chair for the Department of Marketing. The chair reports to the Dean and is responsible for helping the dean build the college and for managing the department including recruiting, course scheduling and merit review. The Department of Marketing has 15 full-time faculty, 50 MBA students and 800 undergraduate students and oversees the operations of two institutes and two laboratories with an investment in excess of $5 million. The college has 63 full-time faculty members who serve over 3300 undergraduate and graduate business majors and is fully accredited by AACSB. The University is a comprehensive, state-assisted university with over 24,000 students and nine colleges. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a marketing or international business discipline from an AACSB-accredited university. The position also requires a strong teaching record with a strong record of research and publications sufficient for the rank of full professor. ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS/MARKETING: The University of Akron is seeking to fill a position in International Business or International Marketing(preferably senior). Candidates at the level of Professor or Associate Professor are preferred to assist in the further globalization of the CBA. The university has undergraduate and graduate degree programs and minors in International Business. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in Accountancy, Finance and Management to administer and enhance the International Business Program. Teaching interests in International Marketing, International Business, Multinational Corporations, International Business Practices would provide a good fit. Strong research productivity in International Business is required. Compensation will be competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR: Additional positions at The University of Akron are pending at all levels (still subject to approval). Candidates with primary interests in Retailing, Transportation, Professional Selling, or Industrial Marketing are especially encouraged to apply.
