The Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2009. Approximately 2,000 undergraduate students are currently enrolled in the school’s programs.

The undergraduate and MBA programs are AACSB-International accredited. There are currently 36 full-time faculty members in six academic disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Resort Tourism. The college offers a MBA program that currently enrolls approximately 60 students. Regional outreach is accomplished primarily through activities of the College’s BB&T Center for Economic and Community Development. The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching, research and service. Currently, the Marketing Faculty consists of a group of flexible colleagues, each able to deliver a variety of Marketing courses. The desired new colleague will be similarly flexible.

Our desired new colleague will add value to our group and enhance our ability to deliver at least two of the following undergraduate Marketing courses: Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy, International Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Personal Selling, and/or Retailing. The individual will also have opportunities to teach Services Marketing Management in the MBA program. Currently, the teaching load is three sections per semester (9 hours per semester). Publication of peer reviewed journal articles, national and regional proceedings, and research presentations are required. A minimum of two peer reviewed articles in a five-year period is required. The individual will be responsible for advising undergraduate students and working with student organizations, and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, college, campus, community and professional organizations. Ideal applicants should have an earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Marketing. A.B.D’s with a clear plan for completion by December 31, 2009 are also encouraged to apply. Applicants must have abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation. They must be interested in using technology in instruction and must demonstrate evidence of communication skills appropriate to a faculty position.
