Full professor of business administration in particular marketing

The Nijmegen School of Management at the Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands) invites applications for a full professor of Marketing position.

The Nijmegen School of Management is a young and dynamic management school. At the moment it has approximately 2,300 students. It includes seven different departments including: Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, and Political Science. The department of Business Administration is responsible for four Master’s specialization programs: Marketing, Strategy, HRM and Organizational change. Within this department, the Marketing group is responsible for all teaching in the area of marketing, both at the Bachelor and the Master level. The research of the Marketing group is concentrated in the research program ‘Relationship Management and Social Networks’ and mainly dedicated to investigating the relationships linking the firm to individual stakeholders, in particular to customers. Members of the research program have published in high-impact journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Product and Innovation Management, and Organization Studies. The Marketing group is enthusiastic and relatively young, totalling about 12 fte, including one professor of Market-Analysis and Relationship Management (presently 0,6 fte) and two associate professors.

The new Marketing chair focuses primarily on marketing management and on the translation of marketing strategy into marketing tactics. Core is the creation of a market oriented organization and the translation of strategic intentions into optimal value delivery for all stakeholders of an organization. The new professor is expected to be a ‘team builder’ and to lead the marketing group in cooperation with the professor of Market analysis and Relationship Management (prof. Josee Bloemer). (S)he is expected to have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, both at the bachelor and master level, evidenced by an excellent teaching record. In addition, (s)he is expected to carry out high-quality research projects in the field of marketing management and to coordinate and supervise the group’s research activities, thus stimulating the quality of the group’s publications. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in marketing or related area, a demonstrated ability to publish in top journals in the field of marketing, and experience in attracting research funds. As the department of Business Administration explicitly wants to expand co-operation with foreign partners in research and education, a strong international network is considered a prerequisite.
