Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing & Industrial Distribution

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Marketing & Industrial Distribution Department in the UAB School of Business seeks a assistant or associate professor of Marketing. Applicants should possess interests in research and/or teaching one or two of these areas: professional selling, sales management, and supply chain management. Our Department has unique curricula in industrial distribution and medical equipment and supplies marketing. Candidates with a background and/or interest in sales, marketing and distribution relative to health care, life sciences, medicine and related fields will find outstanding opportunities to teach and conduct research in these areas at UAB. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing and industrial distribution. A commitment to teaching excellence and quality research is essential. UAB has excellent teaching facilities and support, including numerous multimedia classrooms and computer equipment and software to meet scholarly research needs. The faculty is expanding and is supported by the administration. Our faculty colleagues cooperate in research and provide flexibility in teaching areas.
Applications will be reviewed beginning July 1, 2008 and will continue until the position is filled. The expected starting date of appointment is August 16, 2009. Salary is competitive. REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should possess or anticipate by August 2009 an earned Ph.D. in Marketing or similar field and a record of, or evidence of the capacity for, outstanding research and teaching.
