Responsibilities:
The person in this position is expected to establish a program of scholarship in the area of marketing, with emphasis on quantitative analysis. The position includes teaching (50%) and research (50%) responsibilities. The incumbent will teach upper division courses in marketing and at some time share responsibility for a large introductory marketing course. The department has a long tradition of excellence in teaching and advising and seeks a distinguished and productive junior scholar who shares our passion for outstanding teaching in the context of a leading research university with a top 10 accredited undergraduate business program. Excellence in research and publication in peer-reviewed journals are expected for the position.

This is a key position in the department’s Undergraduate Business Program, which graduates 250 students per year, one of the largest majors at Cornell, and recently ranked fourth among undergraduate business programs by Business Week. The Department has a 40-year history of offering an outstanding undergraduate business degree, and is aggressively positioning itself as a distinguished and distinctive member of the business school community. Location in this department is ideal for a faculty member who enjoys a high level of interaction with students and the business community, in addition to the opportunity to participate in research and interact with other leading scholars at a major research university. This department consists of a unique blend of faculty trained in both economics and management who share an interest and history in problem-solving research that relates to interests of decision makers in the public and private sectors. The Department has a large and enthusiastic alumni community, many of whom hold key positions throughout the economy. Opportunities exist to work with graduate students and colleagues in various fields across campus including the Johnson Graduate School of Management and the Cornell Hotel School. A unique opportunity in AEM is the world-renowned Food Industry Management Program, which provides research, teaching, and executive education opportunities related to the food and grocery retailing and marketing industries.
The Dake Family Professorship of Marketing applies for the period as assistant professor. It carries a $ 10,000 annual stipend for supporting research and other related activities at the discretion of the chair holder.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in marketing, business, applied economics or other related discipline in the field of quantitative marketing.
