Massey University is seeking a Professor in Marketing and Head of Department to be based at the Auckland Campus.

Massey University is one of New Zealand’s leading educational institutions. The University is characterised by the applied nature of its teaching and research programmes, and is renowned for its expertise in the areas of technology, science, applied science and business studies.

The Department of Commerce is expanding its inter-disciplinary interests : consequently Marketing and Communication will be merged into a new unit in the very near future. The successful appointee to this position will have the opportunity to lead this formative department in research and teaching.

The Department’s research outputs and linkages are considered among the top ten performers across Australasian universities. The future incumbent will lead its further development in the Marketing programmes to continue its successful performance in research and teaching. This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding individual with the drive to lead an ambitious research team and the new Department.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in an area of Marketing, high quality research outputs in top academic journals accompanied by evidence of post-graduate research supervision, teaching excellence and University service. With a particular interest in promoting research activities, the Professor of Marketing will also contribute to the administration of the Department, and represent the Department on College and University committees.
