Subject: Research collaboration for FIBEA 2008 in Manaus, Brazil
Dear ELMAR subscribers,
The FIBEA (Fostering Indigenous Business and Entrepreneurship in the Americas) Conference will be in Manaus, Brazil (July 22-25, 2008). Papers or abstracts are due on April 18, 2008 (http://fibeamanaus.mgt.unm.edu/). The purpose of my note is to discover faculty members on the ELMAR list that want to collaborate on a proposal for this conference.
I have to admit the literature stream on indigenous business would be relatively new for me. I publish more typical international business research, but never concerning indigenous peoples. However, I recently took the Dean’s position at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. Given our location (campuses in San Antonio and Mexico City) and mission (community service in South Texas and Northern Mexico), moving into this type of work seemed appropriate.
While I’m open to almost any kind of proposal, I would be especially excited to hear from people residing or researching in Mexico. So, if you’re interested in perhaps working on a joint project or two, please contact me directly. Thank you.
