SERVSIG has been very active during this past semester, and we are pleased to make the following announcements.

Congratulations to the following 2007 SERVSIG Award Winners.

1. Professor Ruth N. Bolton is the recipient of the 2007 Career Contributions to the Services Discipline Award.
2. Professors Lloyd C. Harris and Emmanuel Ogbonna are the recipients of the AMA Best Services Article in 2006 Award.
3. Ms. Carol Kelleher, Mr. Guangie Ren, and Ms. Nancy V. Wünderlich are the recipients of the 2007 ASU CSL/Liam Glynn Research Scholarship Awards.

SERVSIG is pleased to announce the merger between TourSIG and SERVSIG. SERVSIG welcomes TourSIG members and encourages our newest members to actively participate in SERVSIG activities, including submitting proposals for specialized tracks, session and the like for consideration at venues such as the AMA Educators’ Conferences.

SERVSIG thanks Arizona State University’s Center for Service Leadership (ASU CSL) for their sponsorship of the 14th Annual SERVSIG Doctoral Consortium, that was held in conjunction with the 2007 Frontier In Service Conference.

Upcoming Conferences and Important Conference Paper Deadlines:

1. January 4, 2008 is the "deadline" for submitting a SERVSIG-sponsored special session proposal for the 2008 Summer AMA Educators’ Conference. We will need enough time to evaluate the proposals and to forward the recommended sessions to the track chair (Nancy Stephens). Please submit the proposal to Felicia Morgan (fmorgan@uwf.edu).
2. January 14, 2008 is the actual deadline for (non-SERVSIG-sponsored) paper submissions to the 2008 Summer AMA Educators’ Conference. The conference is scheduled for February 15 – 18, 2008, Hyatt Hotel, Austin TX. For more information visit: http://www.marketingpower.com/summer2008
3. January 15, 2008 is the deadline for paper submissions to the 10th International Research Seminar in Service Management. The conference is scheduled for May 27 – 30, 2008, La Londe-Les-Maures, France. For more information visit: http://www.cerog.org/lalondeCB/SM/
4. February 1, 2008 is the deadline for the 5th SERVSIG International Research Conference. The conference is scheduled for June 5 – 7, 2008, Liverpool, UK. For more information visit: http://www.servsig2008.org/
