Call for Nominations: Editor, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS)

The Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) is seeking nominations for the position of editor of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS) for the 2009-2012 term. The current editor of JAMS is Dr. David W. Stewart, Dean, A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, University of California-Riverside. Dr. Stewart previously served as editor of the Journal of Marketing. The new editor’s three-year term will begin on June 1, 2009. The JAMS, currently in its 35th year of publication, has achieved international recognition as a leading scholarly journal and its reputation continues to grow. The primary criteria for evaluating nominees are:

  • Research scholarship, including a strong record of publications in leading marketing journals
  • Reputation and stature within the marketing discipline
  • Prior service in some noteworthy editorial capacity
  • Administrative and managerial ability
  • Willingness to make a substantial time commitment
  • Resource commitment from the nominee’s institution

In accordance with the policies of the Academy, a five-member search committee will be responsible for selecting the next editor of JAMS. The members of the committee are: O.C. Ferrell (Vice President for Publications, Academy of Marketing Science), Barry Babin (President, Academy of Marketing Science), John Ford (President-Elect, Academy of Marketing Science and Chair of the Selection Committee), Joe Hair (Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Academy of Marketing Science), and Bob Peterson (former editor of the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science). Nominations (including self-nominations) should be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to the attention of the Chair of the selection committee, Dr. John Ford, no later than January 15, 2008:
