Editor Vacancy: Marketing Intelligence and Planning
Applications for the Editorship of Marketing Intelligence and Planning are invited. This journal is a key one within the Emerald portfolio. Now entering its 26th volume and registering over 373,000 article downloads worldwide during 2006 – making it the 6th most downloaded journal in the Emerald database (the 2nd most downloaded marketing title) during 2006.
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the strategic development of the journal in conjunction with the Publisher
- Sourcing appropriate content for the journal which reflects leading international research and the latest thinking in the area. The journal positions itself at the interface between academia and practice.
- Managing the double blind peer review system operated by the journal. (The journal utilises the Scholar One Manuscript Central online submission process and the incoming Editor will need to manage the editorial processes using this system).
- Meeting the deadlines for delivery of manuscripts to the Publisher
- Appointing and revising where appropriate the Editorial Advisory Board and panel of reviewers.
- Helping with promotion of the journal through, for example, representation on Editor panels at relevant conferences.
Applications should include:
- Details of previous editorial experience – for example Guest Editorship of journal issues.
- What the applicant can bring to the journal in terms of other experience and personal qualities.
- Details on how the applicant would envisage the development of the journal.
- Given the demands of journal editorship, details of how this role would fit alongside the applicant’s existing workload would also be appreciated.
