Head, Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing

The Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing (CSR) at Purdue University is seeking a Department Head to provide leadership for a multi-talented and diverse group of faculty and professionals toward a common goal of excellence in discovery, learning, and engagement. The department’s undergraduate program includes Bachelor of Science degrees in retail management, financial counseling and planning, selling and sales management, and apparel design and technology. The M.S. and Ph.D. programs are in consumer behavior and, family and consumer economics. The department serves Indiana individuals and families through professional programs and resources within the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. Programs in the department have earned significant national and international recognition. We are committed to excellence and are looking for a leader to enhance continue this commitment in interesting and unique ways.

The candidate must have an earned doctorate, and a distinguished record of significant research, scholarly accomplishments, professional service, and teaching. The candidate should show a demonstrated record of effective leadership. The candidate must currently hold the rank of full professor and/or have the credentials appropriate for rank of full professor at Purdue University. In keeping with the strategic goals of the university, the college, and the department, the candidate must show willingness to support the increasing need for effective corporate and alumni development.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position available July 1, 2008.
