Pacific Lutheran University School of Business seeks a Dean to begin Summer 2008. A notable record of teaching and scholarship in Business, a manifest regard for integrating Liberal with Business Education in preparing graduates with the character and competence to serve well in enterprises and communities, successful leadership experience, and a Ph.D. in Business or the equivalent in a related field of study are required.

The School’s BBA and MBA programs have been continuously accredited by AACSB-International since 1971 and 1975, respectively, and its Professional Accounting program since 1982. The faculty and staff seek to advance the University’s “PLU 2010” Vision of academic distinction through enhanced global focus, student-faculty collaboration in research and service projects, and by helping students find their own paths to meaningful as well as successful lives.

We seek a Dean who will help us expand experiential learning opportunities for our students, especially in the Pacific Northwest and around the Asian Rim; who will implement newly approved cross-disciplinary programs and pursue further collaboration; who will broaden our linkage with alumni and friends through coordination with our Executive Advisory Board, the PLU Business Network, and other School and University connections; who recognizes the coherence of institutional purpose with AACSB-International accreditation standards, and who welcomes the prospect of shaping the composition of the School in view of forecasted faculty retirement transitions.
