Call for Papers Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management

Special Issue: E-Businessss and hospitality Management

In spite of the extensive applications of the Internet to hospitality and tourism, published articles in the existing literature has largely concentrated on using the Internet for enhancement of revenues or relationships with consumers and business partners. Findings of these prior studies have achieved certain levels of success in the past but do not adequately meet the present business requirements of effectively linking internal and external data processing systems in the entire value chain electronically.

To reflect the latest development of e-Business applications to hospitality and tourism, the Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management will publish a thematic issue on “e-Business and Hospitality Management”. This special issue will disseminate the latest research findings and industrial practices related to e-Business in the context of hospitality management. The Guest Editor invites academic researchers, industrial practitioners, and official policy-makers to contribute technical or managerial papers that are related to the theme. Both conceptual and empirical papers are welcomed.

The Journal of Hospitality Marketing & Management is a refereed journal. All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Acceptance will be made based on reviewers’ recommendations and the paper’s relevance to the theme.

Potential papers can include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

  • Business-to-business e-commerce (B2B)
  • Business-to-consumer e-commerce (B2C)
  • Cultural differences in e-commerce
  • Customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Emerging business models
  • E-procurement
  • Knowledge management
  • Data and security management
  • Supply chain management
  • User satisfaction
  • Virtual communities
  • Virtual marketing strategies
  • Web site design and management
  • Any other related topics

Full papers should be submitted by March 31, 2008. Expected publication date for this issue is early-mid 2009.
