Instructor/Assistant Professor in Residence in the Innovation Accelerator in East Hartford

The University of Connecticut anticipates a position beginning January 7, 2008 for an Instructor/Assistant Professor in Residence of Marketing, in the Innovation Accelerator located in East Hartford. This position is an eleven month appointment with annual renewals depending upon performance, and does not lead to tenure. This position involves extensive duties and responsibilities associated with the Innovation Accelerator operations, including close involvement in several IA projects in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Additionally, this individual will teach three courses per academic year.
Minimum Qualifications: ABD candidates with a Master’s degree may be appointed at the Instructor in Residence level and will need to offer evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed before the beginning of the 2008-2009 academic year; candidates must provide evidence of outstanding teaching potential, particularly relating to entrepreneurs, new ventures and start-ups, and demonstrated classroom excellence commensurate with rank and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a Ph.D. in Business and a specialization in Marketing will qualify for application at the Assistant Professor in Residence level. Although we will consider all qualified applicants, we are especially interested in those who have previous experience with marketing research for entrepreneurs, competitive analysis for new ventures as well as managerial experience in new ventures or startups, and teaching experience and research in marketing.
Salary will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience.
