Applications are invited for tenure-track positions (with an initial contract of three years) as Assistant Professor in marketing at the School of Business, tenable from August 1, 2008 or soon after.

Applicants should have a PhD training in Marketing, Psychology or Strategy, demonstrate strong research method training and evidence for research excellence (i.e., publishing in top-tier marketing and management journals), plus good teaching skills.  Preferences will be given to candidates who work in the research areas of firm/product innovation, services marketing, and marketing strategy.  The appointee is expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research (in innovation and services) and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Services Marketing and Strategic Marketing Management.  The typical teaching load is 3 courses per year.

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.  The appointment will include a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totally up to 15% of basic salary.  The appointment carries leave and medical benefits, as well as housing benefits.

The marketing team currently consists of 8 established positions.  In 2010, we shall recruit one to two more assistant professors, making a team of 10 in total.  Our marketing team is a young, highly supportive and prolific group. The HKSAR government, the University, and the School provide ample research grants to support vibrant research targeting publication in premier journals.  With good research grant support, our current research environment is comparable to a good research university in the USA.  The teaching environment is challenging.  Our BBA, MBA and IMBA programs attract the best students from Hong Kong, and beyond.  In addition, our team has a PhD program that produces highly promising marketing faculty members.
