POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
MARKETING
The Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University announces its search for a tenure track faculty position in Marketing at the assistant professor level effective August 2008. The normal teaching load for this position is nine (9) hours per semester. Preference will be given to those candidates with documented evidence of or strong potential for achieving excellence in both teaching and research. Business experience is also a desirable characteristic.
The Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University is AACSB accredited for both the undergraduate and MBA programs. The Marketing area currently has eight full-time faculty and two executives-in-residence. The department offers majors and minors in both marketing and sales and has recently formed a Center for Professional Selling. The Marketing Department is one of the ten largest academic programs in a comprehensive University with over 19,000 students.
This position requires teaching undergraduate courses, and candidates must also exhibit a willingness to teach at the Master’s level and in our extended electronic program. All areas of specialization will be considered but fields within the area of sales may be given preference.
Western Kentucky University is located in Bowling Green, KY. The city is part of growing community of 90,000 and is centrally located between Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY. It serves as the financial and manufacturing hub of South Central Kentucky while still retaining the desirable features of small town living.
Applicants should have a doctorate in field from an AACSB accredited school, but ABDs with a reasonable completion date after August, 2008, may be considered as well.
