Tenure-Track Position in Sales – 2008-2009

Marketing Department

Position Description: The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for taking the lead in creating relationships with businesses in a vibrant economic region, building a strong sales program, internships and sales industry contacts. The sales program will include a state-of-the-art, multi-media laboratory in the new College of Business complex under construction.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB accredited university
University-level teaching experience with evidence of high quality teaching
Use of sales-related computer programs and use of various media

Preferred Profile:

Willing to teach three courses per semester, can be reduced for research productivity and grants
Evidence of high quality teaching at University level
Evidence of use of appropriate teaching approach and use of technology in the classroom
A strong desire to work with a diverse student body as well as advise and interact with students
Ability to work with others throughout the college, university and surrounding communities
Evidence of on-going scholarly activity and a well-defined research agenda for publications in premier journals
Willingness to contribute to the needs of the college and university
Evidence of relevant industry experience and ability to develop strong liaison relationships with sales community
Ability to increase interest in, and the popularity of Sales as an area in Marketing

Rank and Salary: This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Salary is competitive and commensurate to rank, experience and qualifications. California State University Fullerton (CSUF) Department of Marketing invites applicants for tenure-track position(s), beginning August 2008. All candidates with research and teaching backgrounds will be considered, though preference may be given to candidates with interest and experience in the following areas:

Marketing Strategy

Product and/or service marketing, with an emphasis on the use of the latest marketing technology, including data mining, data warehousing, and analysis of panel data to successfully manage the product
Management of marketing channels, including an understanding of supply chain management, logistics and retail management

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB accredited university and university-level teaching experience with evidence of high quality teaching. In addition, we seek candidates with a well-defined research agenda for publications in high-quality journals along with a willingness to contribute to the needs of the College and University’s vision. Relevant industry experience is also highly desired. The Department of Marketing offers a stimulating and collegial environment with a balanced emphasis on research and teaching.
