Oklahoma State University, Department of Marketing, Tenure Track Faculty Position.

Position: The College of Business Administration of Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure track position in marketing to begin August 2008. Preference will be given to candidates at the assistant professor rank. The teaching load is two courses per semester. New assistant professors are given minimal service assignments to allow them to develop their teaching and research. Summer research support is provided. Salary is competitive for a comprehensive research university.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold or anticipate holding, by Fall 2008, a Ph.D. in marketing or a related field. They should be able to show evidence of outstanding research and teaching potential. They must also be able to work well in a collegial environment.

Department: The department has 15 tenure-track positions and is in a growth mode.

Research is highly valued by the department. Faculty members publish in the best marketing journals (JMR, JM, and JCR publications and acceptances in the past year) and serve on the editorial review boards for the lead journals in their areas of specialization. Members of the department have served as president of the Association for Consumer Psychology (2001), co-chaired national conferences in the fields of Corporation Reputation (2002, 2003), Direct Marketing (2004, 2005), and Marketing and Public Policy (2000, 2004), Data Mining (2007). In addition, Tom Brown will co-chair the 2008 Winter AMA Conference. Most importantly, senior faculty members are committed to working with new faculty members so that they can achieve publishing success. The department provides direct academic leadership and courses in marketing, international business, business ethics, and electronic commerce. Marketing faculty teach at the undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. levels. The department has over 650 undergraduate majors. At the masters level, marketing faculty teach a variety of business courses in the MBA program and other business-related masters programs. The doctoral program is a very strong component of the department. Doctoral students work closely with faculty on research and have had a high degree of publishing success. The successful candidate will be capable of teaching at all three levels.
