The School of Economics & Management of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, an EQUIS and AMBA-accredited institution encompassing the areas of Economics and Business Administration, is opening a tenure-track position in Marketing at the level of Assistant Professor.

Candidates shall be ranked according to their research potential and teaching  ability. Other positions (non-tenure track) at all levels may also be considered. Gross annual compensation is in the range EUR 55,000-85,000.

Responsibilities include academic research and a teaching load of 110 hours per year at undergraduate, graduate levels. Classes are taught in English and knowledge of Portuguese is not a requirement.

The School may also consider applications of outstanding quality from candidates willing to come to Portugal with the main purpose of doing academic research. Applicants must hold, or be about to complete, a Ph.D. in Management (Marketing).

The Richard Ivey School of Business is Canada’s premier business school and is recognized worldwide for the quality of its management education and research. The School’s major activities include:  a highly regarded MBA program and undergraduate program; a well established doctoral program active in most major areas of management; as well as, an expanding portfolio of programs for executives, including an expanding Executive MBA delivered in Canada and Hong Kong.  The School is internationally oriented in terms of curricula, research, faculty, and student exchanges.

The School is located in London, Ontario, a community of 340,000 equidistant from Toronto and Detroit. The Canadian Executive MBA facilities are located at the Exchange Tower in downtown Toronto.  A campus is also located in Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center that is designed to meet the exacting standards of the School’s Executive MBA Program.  The School is part of a larger University community with approximately 26,000 full-time students.

The School seeks candidates for a Full Professor or Senior Associate Professor in the Marketing group. The position is available as of July 2007. The successful candidate will demonstrate an international research record in consumer behavior, with publications in the top consumer research outlets, i.e. Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology; inclusive of psychology journals like the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied. A successful candidate will also possess demonstrated ability to teach executive audiences, in either degree programs, or custom programs, and overall teaching excellence, with a demonstrated ability to successfully mentor and supervise doctoral students, co-author work, and place doctoral students in good jobs.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Marketing or a related field (e.g., Psychology). Demonstrated interest and abilities to take a strong leadership role in the Marketing group is desirable.  

This position is subject to budget approval. Instructor/Assistant Professor in Residence—Innovation Accelerator, University of Connecticut

Pending funding, the University of Connecticut anticipates a position beginning August 23, 2007 for an Instructor/Assistant Professor in Residence of Marketing, in the Innovation Accelerator located in East Hartford. This position is an eleven month appointment with annual renewals depending upon performance, and does not lead to tenure.  In addition to extensive duties and responsibilities associated with the Innovation Accelerator operations, including close involvement in several IA projects in the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, this individual will teach three courses per academic year, including teaching on Storrs, Campus.

Minimum Qualifications:  ABD candidates with a Master’s degree may be appointed at the Instructor in Residence level and will need to offer evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed before the beginning of the 2007-2008 academic year; candidates must provide evidence of outstanding teaching potential, particularly  relating to entrepreneurs, new ventures and start-ups, and demonstrated classroom excellence commensurate with rank and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a Ph.D. in Business and a specialization in Marketing will qualify for application at the Assistant Professor in Residence level.  Although we will consider all qualified applicants, we are especially interested in those who have previous experience with marketing research for entrepreneurs, competitive analysis for new ventures as well as managerial experience in new ventures or startups, and teaching experience and research in marketing.

Salary will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience.

The Department of Marketing and Statistics at the Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus (ASB) invites applications for the position of Post. doc. researcher in innovation. The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment as soon as possible subject to mutual agreement.

Innovation, especially market-oriented new product development for both consumer and industrial markets, is a focus area for the department’s research, and the applicant is expected to promote this area by conducting world class research, attracting external funding, and collaborating with industry locally and nationally. The department is therefore looking for applicants with high-level, research-based expertise in the interface of marketing and innovation management in general and lead user research in particular. Relevant topics include lead user innovation, user communities, user toolkits, required changes of manufacturers’ strategies, structures and competencies to benefit from user-centered innovation, required changes in current IP regimes due to open and democratized innovation.

The position is limited to three years with a teaching workload of 220 working hours a year. Furthermore, a limited number of tasks may follow according to the decisions of the department.

In terms of research the position is with the Department of Marketing and Statistics, and priority will be given to applicants with documented research activities in innovation.
