Call for Papers
The INFORMS Marketing Science Conference is an annual event bringing together leading marketing scholars, industry executives and members of non-profit organizations. The conference falls under the auspices of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (ISMS) sub-branch.
The Marketing faculty of Singapore Management University invites you to submit abstracts of your research papers, present your work, and actively participate in the conference. The conference is an important forum to present cutting-edge research and intellectual exchange. This conference will also provide you with an opportunity to visit Singapore and the rest of this vibrant part of Asia.
The conference begins the morning of Thursday, June 28, 2007, and concludes at Noon on Saturday, June 30, 2007. While parallel sessions are planned during the day, the evenings will consist of a reception (Thursday), and an awards dinner (Friday). We will also suggest a number of alternative (optional) activities to do on your own on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The website also lists “things to do” as you visit this region.
Abstracts may be submitted between Wednesday, November 1, 2006, and Thursday, February 1, 2007, through the conference website. Abstracts should not exceed 1800 characters (about 250 words), and should clearly define a marketing topic and the contribution of the research. We welcome submissions on a broad range of marketing science topics, including marketing strategy, marketing models, methods, theory, as well as empirical research. We also encourage submissions from behavioral researchers. An author may be the primary presenter for only a single paper during the entire conference. Each presenting author will be notified by Monday, February 26, 2007, as to whether their abstract has been accepted. For inclusion in the final program, the presenting author (of an accepted abstract) is required to register for the conference no later than Thursday, March 15, 2007. This policy helps to limit the number of cancelled papers and no-shows.
Practice Prize Submissions are welcome. In order to nominate your paper for the Practice Prize, your paper must meet the specific requirements listed below. Accepted papers are presented on Friday morning (June 29, 2007) and the winners announced at the Awards Banquet on Friday evening.
If at least one of the co-authors on a paper is from industry, the abstract may be nominated for a special Practitioner Track (separate from the Practice Prize Competition). Please note your preference in the “Comments” box on the Abstract Submission window.
Special sessions are strongly encouraged. Include a proposed title, a session chair(s), abstracts for 4 or 5 papers and a statement summarizing the session’s theme. Email your proposal to mks2007@smu.edu.sg.
We are very excited and hope to see you all in Singapore in 2007 for an intellectually stimulating conference!
Sincerely,
Jin K. Han, Sundar Bharadwaj, David Montgomery and Chin Tiong Tan
(Co-Chairs)
