Smith Foundation Chair in Business Ethics and Integrity

The University of Alabama is pleased to invite applications for the Smith Foundation Chair in Business Ethics and Integrity.  Tenure, rank and compensation will depend upon the qualifications of the candidate.  Candidates from the following disciplines will be considered:  accounting, applied statistics, economics, finance, management, management information systems, marketing, and operations management.

Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in a business-related discipline or a graduate degree and substantial relevant professional experience.  Outstanding teaching effectiveness is essential with evidence of a continuing record of exemplary academic or professional citizenship.  In addition to teaching traditional courses in the chairholder’s discipline, s/he will encourage students to identify, analyze and gain awareness of ethical issues and reasoning as they pertain to business management.

Candidates for a tenure-track position must have a record of published academic research in top academic journals.  Candidates’ research interests must include business ethics, integrity, corporate governance or other topics consistent with the purpose of the chair.

The Marketing Department in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking applicants for an Associate or Full Professor position for Fall 2007.  Both the salary and teaching load are competitive, as is support for research and instruction.  Qualified applicants for Full Professor will be considered for the Nathan J. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or DBA in marketing or a related discipline.  Candidates for the position should have an established record of high quality teaching and research, with publications in the major marketing journals, a record of successful supervision of doctoral students, and mentoring of junior colleagues.  Candidates should have experience and credentials commensurate with the University rank of either Associate or Full Professor.  Appointment to the Gold Professorship requires that the candidate meet the College standards for a chaired professor.  The successful candidate will be expected to be significantly involved in the Department and College’s research and doctoral programs, including directing doctoral dissertations, and to teach marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) is looking for marketing faculty at all levels (though entry level is preferred) for permanent (tenure track and tenured) and visiting positions. IIMA is the top ranked B-school in Asia – consistently for the past many years. IIMA is expanding (new programs and increased intake in existing MBA programs) and is looking to raise its profile and international ranking (the Economist ranked IIMA at 69 in the world last year – though IIMA did not officially participate in the rankings).

IIMA has relatively low teaching requirements per year (86 hours approx. per year – compared to the normal 2:2 that translates to 140 hours) and provides generous research support. Teaching loads are negotiable for the first 2 years for the right candidate. Campus housing is part of the package and the physical infrastructure matches that of the best schools around the world.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University is accepting applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position(s) in the area of MARKETING to commence August 2007.  Principle responsibilities include teaching courses in marketing principles and in one or more of the following areas: marketing communications, marketing strategy, consumer  behavior and marketing research at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Normal teaching load will be three courses per semester at the graduate or undergraduate level.

Required:  A doctorate from an AACSB accredited business school with a major or concentration in Marketing or a related field, or ABD and in the final stages of dissertation completion; evidence of teaching excellence in marketing courses at the college/university level; and a strong research agenda.

Preferred:  Teaching philosophy consistent with the college’s learning-centered and business-connected mission; demonstrated scholarly activity commensurate with experience;  industry experience; and competency in SAP and/or Six Sigma or a willingness to undertake professional development in one or both of these areas.
