Foreign Tenure-Track and Visiting Faculty Positions in Marketing

Korea University Business School (KUBS) is seeking qualified applicants for up to four tenure-track faculty positions as well as a visiting faculty position in all areas of marketing.  The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities are to teach marketing courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs and to conduct scholarly research.  The tenure-track positions are initially for a three-year term with possibility of an extension for further years.  The visiting position is for a minimum one-year term (preferably 2~3 years).  The starting date of the appointment is March 1 or September 1, 2007.

JOB QUALIFICATION:

An earned Ph.D. in marketing or a related field with strong commitment to excellence in teaching is required.  In addition, candidates for tenure-track positions should demonstrate an ability or potential for high quality scholarly research.  In an effort to diversify our faculty members, we are particularly interested in non-Korean candidates who can teach marketing courses in English.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The teaching responsibility is six credit hours (two courses) each semester.  All courses should be taught in English.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY AND THE SCHOOL

Korea University is located in Seoul, the capital city of Korea.  KUBS, founded in 1905, is a leading business school in Korea and is accredited by AACSB.  It currently has 64 full-time (tenure track or higher) faculty members, which is the largest among business schools in Korea, and is planning to expand to 100 within a few years.  KUBS has approximately 2,500 undergraduate students, 800 students in MBA, 200 students in Maser of Science, and 100 Ph.D. students in all areas of business.  The marketing area has currently 9 full-time faculty members and is planning to expand.!
 
SALARY

  • Tenure-track Positions: Varies with qualification; For candidates with strong qualifications we can offer salaries comparable to U.S.-based schools.
  • Visiting Position: U.S. $ 50,000~80,000
  • Non-salary compensation and benefits include a subsidized on-campus housing, one round-trip airfare per year, and medical benefits.

Faculty Position, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for an Assistant level tenure-track marketing position, starting fall 2007, and will be interviewing at the upcoming AMA Summer Educators’ Conference in Chicago.  Please submit your application material before July 15, 2006 if you want to be considered for an interview at the conference. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or be A.B.D. in marketing. In reviewing teaching skills, preference is for a candidate who possesses industry experience and has taught marketing courses.  In reviewing research skills, candidates’ general skills and publication record will be evaluated.

The normal teaching responsibility is three courses during each of the fall semester and spring semesters, with each semester entailing two preps. Professional development support is available for research, for presenting papers at conferences, and for attending off-campus workshops.

The College of Business offers AACSB accredited programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has a regional MBA program with about 500 enrolled students. The Department of Marketing at TCU invites nominations and applications for the West Chair. The ideal candidate will be a senior associate professor or junior full professor with an international reputation as a distinguished scholar in marketing. The position entails teaching at both the undergraduate and MBA level, conducting state-of-the-art research, publishing in top-level academic journals, interacting with business leaders, and performing other senior faculty responsibilities. Strong candidates will show evidence of mentoring junior faculty through research collaboration, guidance, and development of long-term research programs. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to enhancing the research environment in the Neeley School.

The marketing department offers undergraduate majors in marketing and an MBA concentration in the area. EMBA courses are offered in marketing strategy and advanced marketing strategy. Demonstrated success teaching EMBA courses is desirable.

The Faculty of Business Administration at Simon Fraser University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in the Marketing area commencing in the Fall of 2007. One position will be at the Assistant Professor level while the second position is open up to the rank of Associate Professor depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications. For one of the positions, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in quantitative methods and proven abilities to teach Market Research. For appointment at the senior assistant or associate level, a proven ability to teach at the graduate level will be required. For appointment at the assistant level, teaching ability at all levels will be an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their Ph.D. In addition to market research, experience in teaching in one or more of the following areas would be a strong asset: new product development / new ventures, services and branding.
