ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 2006 MSI BEST PAPER AWARD WINNER
The Marketing Science Institute is pleased to announce the winner of the 2006 Robert D. Buzzell MSI Best Paper Award. This year’s winning paper is:
Amit Joshi and Dominique M. Hanssens, "Advertising Spending and Market Capitalization" (MSI Report No. 04-110)
For more information on this year’s winning paper and for a list of past winners, please visit the MSI website: http://www.msi.org
The award was instituted in 1993 to honor the authors of MSI working papers that have made the most significant contribution to marketing practice and thought. It also signals the kind of writing and research
that is of lasting value to corporate marketing executives. Each year the award is given for the best MSI paper issued during the calendar year two years previous. The reason for this delay is to allow sufficient time to assess the impact of each paper on the field of marketing.
A two-stage process is used to select the winner. An advisory panel, consisting of MSI’s Academic Trustees and marketing executives on MSI’s Bridge and Executive Committees, nominate a set of 5-7 finalist
papers. Then, a ballot is sent to all MSI Trustees, and their votes determine the winner.
