CALL FOR PAPERS AND ABSTRACTS (submission Deadline: April 1, 2006)

Management International Conference (MIC) in Portoroz, Slovenia, November 23-25, 2006.

Conference Theme:  Advance Business and Management in Knowledge-based Society  (multiple tracks)

  • To discuss the role and importance of globalization, as well as its impacts on economic opportunities of individuals and the society with a special emphasis on knowledge-based economies.
  • To analyze different business management approaches to managing knowledge the society, institutions and individuals.
  • To analyze business management models for assessing knowledge and globalization in transition economies.
  • To analyze diverse aspects of business knowledge management in internationalization and globalization.

Paper Submission:

All paper submissions will be handled electronically and must be in MS WORD format as an e-mail attachment. Please submit your paper directly to me at BLIN@LSUS.EDU by April 1, 2006.

The author(s) of a paper submission will receive both an email acknowledgment and a manuscript ID number with 1-7 days. If you do not receive an email acknowledgment within seven days after your electronic submissions, please contact me immediately. All paper submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. Notification of acceptance will be sent by me within 4 weeks of a submission receipt, or by May 15, 2006, whichever is sooner. Accepted papers are to be included in the MIC 2006 Conference Proceedings in CD form.  Authors of selected papers will be given the opportunity to revise their papers for inclusion in a future issue of the Industrial Management & Data Systems (ISSN: 0263-5577) Managing Global Transitions: International Research Journal (ISSN: 1581-6311) and other refereed journals according to the guidelines for publication as specified in each journal.

The MIC 2006 policy requires one unique author to be registered for each paper accepted for presentation and publication. If you are an author or co-author on more then one accepted paper, each paper must have one unique author registration to be accepted for conference presentation and publication.

What to Submit:

  1. Full research/pedagogy papers (including work in progress)
  2. Paper abstracts (including workshop proposals)
  3. Panel presentation proposals

Important Deadlines:

Paper submission due:  April 1, 2006
Notification of acceptance: May 15, 2006 
Final Proceedings paper due: July 1, 2006

Participant Activities for MIC 2006:

Make plans to attend the MIC 2006 in Portoroz, Slovenia. The MIC 2006 Program includes an array of refereed paper sessions along with several innovative panel sessions. Slovenia, one of most beautiful place in the world, is a fun place for a conference and the MIC 2006 program will provide an opportunity to grow professionally, and enjoy the sights of Slovenia and other places.  Several trip options are planned to further stimulate the exchange within the many social events of the MIC 2006.  There will be plenty of time and opportunity to meet and visit with conference participants prior to the end of the conference.

Conference Location and Hotel Reservations:

The MIC 2006 is being held at the Bernardin Congress www.h-bernardin.si. Conference attendees are offered a variety of special rates for accommodation. Hotel Reservation Forms will be available online at the conference web site soon.

Conference Registration:

Early registration: July 15, 2006 – EUR 200 (US $240)
Late registration: September 1, 2006 – EUR 250 (US $300)
