The Answers in Action podcast sat down with a few presenters from the 2017 AMA Nonprofit Marketing Conference held in Washington, D.C.

July 13, 2017

The audience at the 2017 AMA Nonprofit Marketing Conference were asked to write down three takeaways from each presentation they attended. Now we have a few more to share.

The Answers in Action podcast sat down with a few presenters at the Washington, D.C. conference. Interviews include those with:

Kerry Rodgers, a member of the social impact experiences team at Airbnb. Rodgers  discusses her organization's shift from home sharing to experience sharing. In addition to the company’s refugee program, under which it encourages hosts to take in the displaced, Airbnb has also launched initiatives that get people into their community to learn more or volunteer.

Debbie Bates-Schrott, president of Bates Creative, says creativity is one of the perks of working with nonprofit organizations. While the budget may be smaller, Bates says there is an opportunity for increased creativity on nonprofit projects. She also predicts more nonprofits will use progressive web apps to promote their campaigns.

Lisa Sherman, president and CEO of the Ad Council, talks corporations moving into the nonprofit marketing sphere, and how the industry can navigate new fish in their waters. Sherman says an authentic voice speaks strongest, such as the tone taken with the Ad Council’s “Love Has no Labels” campaign.
