 2018 Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award  


The Sheth award committee (Leigh McAlister, Robert Meyer, and Rob Palmatier) has met and selected the following paper as the 2018 winner: 

Hinz, Oliver, Bernd Skiera, Christian Barrot, and Jan U. Becker (2011), “Seeding Strategies for Viral Marketing: An Empirical Comparison,” Journal of Marketing, 75 (6), 55-71. 

In the assessment of the committee, “it was a hard choice as all four papers were excellent---so please pass on our congratulations not just to Oliver and co-authors  but to all four nominees”. 
However, given the mandate to the committee to select the best among the best for the honor, the committee recommended the above article.

2017 Marketing Science Institute/H. Paul Root 


The 2017 MSI/H. Paul Root Best Paper Award Committee (Ruth Bolton, Robert Leone, and Dave Stewart) selects the following paper for the award:

There were six articles that were voted by the JM ERB as finalists for this award. However, given the mandate to the committee to select the best among the best for the honor, the committee recommended the above article.

2017 Shelby D. Hunt/Harold H. Maynard Award 


The 2017 Hunt-Maynard Best Paper Award Committee (Ajay Kohli, Gary Frazier and Rajan Varadarajan) selects the following paper for the award:
 
"Group Marketing: Theory, Mechanisms, and Dynamics" by Colleen M. Harmeling, Robert W. Palmatier, Eric (Er) Fang and Dianwen Wang, published in the July 2017, Vol. 81(4) issue of the Journal of Marketing.
 
In the assessment of the committee, “all seven articles that were voted by the JM ERB as finalists for the aaward are outstanding papers”. However, given the mandate to the committee to select the best among the best for the honor, the committee recommended the above article.
