One of the most challenging (and potentially frustrating) aspects of modern life as a marketer can be the relationship between marketing and sales. Many firms seem timid about addressing the issue head-on and dealing with longstanding organizational, cultural and structural barriers. 

When a firm’s revenues are falling short of their projections, the sales team is often told to do whatever it takes to bring home the business. This marching order can compromise important elements of the long-term customer relationship and negate strategies toward which marketing has invested considerable resources. As a result, instead of driving the overall customer experience marketing becomes merely an afterthought—and even the best strategies can be rendered obsolete in pursuit of the next sale. This is unacceptable.

Obviously, you need strong leadership to break out of such suboptimal behaviors and that leadership most often must originate within marketing. This session will give you actionable ideas to help you take the lead to bridge the divide between marketing and sales in your organization. It is unique in that each attendee will come away with a customized individual personal action agenda directed to specific organizational needs.

  • Identify specific areas of dysfunction in your marketing/sales relationship. 

  • Assess the impact of misalignment on branding, messaging, lead generation, and the customer experience.

  • Learn how to get it done at your own organization – one size solutions definitely do not fit all! Develop your own personalized action agenda that you can begin to apply immediately.

Aligning Sales with Marketing - Who Should Attend
This session is ideal for marketers who are charged with working closely with sales organizations. Enlightened sales executives are also very welcome.

Aligning Sales with Marketing – Cancellation Policy
All Training Intensive cancellations and requests for refunds must be submitted to the AMA via email at Cancellations received four weeks prior to the event start date will receive a refund minus a $150 early cancellation fee. Cancellations received after that date will receive a refund minus a $300 late cancellation fee. 

Registrants wishing to cancel may send someone to take their place without penalty if they send a written request with the replacement person’s name to at least two weeks prior to the event start date. No refunds will be given after September 19, 2013. 

A conference registration may not be shared by two or more individuals. Space is limited and on-site registration cannot be guaranteed. Separate cancellation policies may exist for pre-conference programs, tutorials, and other associated events. Hotel and transportation reservation cancellations must be handled by the individual registrant directly with the hotel, airline and/or other company.
