AMA Honors 4 Under 40 Marketing Emerging Leaders

CHICAGO, IL – October 2, 2014 — The American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Marketing Insights Council announces Louis Cohen, Kip Havel, Andrew Reid, and Andres Zapata as the recipients of the 5th annual 4 Under 40 Marketing Emerging Leaders Award.  This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of marketing and its sub-fields while demonstrating sound leadership and a continuing commitment to service.  The Marketing Emerging Leaders Award winners were recognized on Wednesday, October 1st at the AMA’s Annual Marketing Conference in New Orleans, LA.
Candidates for the 4 Under 40 Marketing Emerging Leaders Award were nominated by their peers, organization, or self-nominated.  Candidates had to be less than 40 years old at the time of the nomination; have a demonstrated commitment to the marketing industry and its advancement; and serve as passionate leaders who have a high potential for collaboration and success.  These individuals lead by example, mentor and motivate others, actively participate in transferring knowledge, and take risks to achieve a desired outcome.  The following four award recipients are leading change and embracing what’s next in the marketing field:
Louis Cohen is the SVP – Head of Search, Affiliate Marketing & Lead Generation for Citi.  In this role, he leads the digital marketing efforts across U.S. consumer brands including Citibank, CitiMortgage, CitiCards, etc.  Via Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Optimization (SEO), Local Search, Affiliate Marketing & Lead Generation channels, Louis and his team drive branding, acquisition, and engagement efforts across financial services.  Louis actively speaks at numerous industry events and teaches MBA classes in Digital Marketing, Search Marketing, and Social Media Marketing at Baruch College as well as Digital Marketing classes at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Kip Havel is the Vice President of Communications and Content Marketing at Aflac.  He has more than 16 years of experience in marketing and communications and is responsible for the company's thought leadership initiatives, social media channels (including the beloved Aflac Duck), U.S. public relations and direct marketing to Aflac's 70,000+ agents.  Prior to joining Aflac in 2009, Kip was the head of marketing and public relations for Spherion Corporation, a large recruiting and staffing company now merged with Randstad U.S.  He has also worked with international PR agencies Hill + Knowlton Strategies and Edelman Worldwide. 
Andrew Reid is the Founder, President and Chief Product Officer of Vision Critical, a cloud-based customer intelligence platform provider started in 2000.  For more than a decade, Andrew has been behind product innovation and development, consistently pushing the business to embrace game-changing technologies that help leading global businesses and organizations understand their customers better so that they can make more informed business decisions.  Andrew is an active speaker at recognized events and has been featured across top business press including Fortune, Forbes, Fast Company and WIRED.
Andres Zapata serves as a partner and EVP, Strategy at idfive,  where he specializes in requirement gathering and documentation, information architecture, usability design, workflow and data design, research, analysis, communication, public speaking, problem solving, critical thinking, client relations, and account management.  In addition to his position at idfive, Andres teaches User Interface and Experience Design and Interactive Media at the Maryland Institute College of Art, as well as for the MA/MBA in Design Leadership offered by Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.  Additionally, Andres serves on the Board of Directors for Wide Angle Youth Media.
