Last year’s conference in Newport Beach, CA was a great time for all, our largest ever, with attendees remarking on how much they enjoyed spending time with colleagues who care about marketing education. The sessions were lively and well-attended and included discussions of how to motivate, engage and connect with students, design curriculum, use new technologies and teaching methods in the classroom, and more. Discussions often continued into the breaks and meals, and attendees went home energized, with new ideas and improvements to try out with their students and in their professional lives. The MEA conference continues to be a friendly, collegial, stimulating, and thought-provoking experience for marketing educators.  The MEA will be featuring a special Friday Night social event and dinner at the Skyline Restaurant of the Space Needle with music by the Dave Rawlinson Band.

The submission deadline for competitive papers, special session proposals, and contemporary issues/breakfast roundtable discussions is October 31, 2009. Please submit competitive papers to Dr. Susan Cadwallader (scadwallader@fullerton.edu) and special session and contemporary issues proposals to Dr. Glen Brodowsky (glenbrod@csusm.edu).  If you would like to participate in the 2010 conference as a reviewer, session chair, or discussion leader, please notify Dr. Clay Daughtrey, MEA Secretary-Treasurer, daughtre@mscd.edu.  For more information on this year’s conference, including the 2010 Call for Papers, please visit the MEA website at: http://www.marketingeducators.org .
