The AMA Foundation, in conjunction with the AMA Academic Council, oversees the following  Ph. D. awards:

• John A. Howard/AMA Doctoral Dissertation Award - for contribution quality: 2008 Call
• AMA Foundation Valuing Diversity Award - Resources for underrepresented groups.
• AMA Foundation Nonprofit Travel Grants - To attend the AMA Nonprofit Marketing Conf

• Levy and Weitz Dissertation Proposal Awards - By Retailing and Retail Management SIG. 
• Sales SIG/DSEF Dissertation Grants - Four awards are generally given out in December.
• Tech SIG Best Dissertation Award - For dissertations on marketing of, or using, technology.

• MRSIG/Lehmann Award - For the best dissertation-based paper published in JM or JMR.

• INFORMS - George Nicholson Student Paper Competition for a paper in OR or MS.
• Insitute for Ethical Business Worldwide - Dissertations focused on ethical issues.
• Marketing Science Institute - Alden G. Clayton competition for dissertation proposals.
• Product Development and Management Association - Word document for the 2006 award.
